Please join ASHRAE Jacksonville for our November Lunch meeting with a presentation by Jeremy Smith on the topic of Air Quality: "CO and NO2 Removal in Car Park Garages – Understanding the Risks and Mitigation through Jet Fan Systems".

The meeting is held at Maggiano's Little Italy at the Town Center, which always provides a delicious lunch and friendly environment for our meetings and, as always, provides awesome leftovers to take home after the meeting.

Presentation
This presentation will focus on the buildup and harmful effects of Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) gases in enclosed parking structures.
Jeremy will explain how these gases are generated within vehicle environments, their toxic effects on human health and air quality, and how they accumulate in areas with inadequate ventilation.
The session will then explore engineering and design strategies for effective mitigation, emphasizing the use of jet fan systems for pollutant dilution, improved airflow distribution, and compliance with ASHRAE, IMC, and local ventilation safety codes.
Attendees — including engineers, facility managers, and building designers — will gain valuable insights into implementing intelligent ventilation systems that ensure both occupant safety and energy efficiency in modern parking facilities.
